Anti-racism and stereotypes | Media Studies | GCSE | MSF

This resource links to the AQA GCSE media studies specification. It examines stereotypes, and how and why they are perpetuated by the media. There is a case study of how MSF is becoming actively anti-racist in our own media. Students are invited to reflect on different questions about stereotypes throughout the lesson.

Although this resource is designed primarily for GCSE media studies, it can be used as a more general resource for lessons on equality and diversity.

The resource has been created by Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) using our authentic materials. Teachers are encouraged to review and select content and activities to best match their students’ needs.
