Area and perimeter zoo project. This is great for teaching area and perimeter or as an after SATs project. The project is split into the following steps for the children:
Step 1. You will need to design your zoo using the measurement requirements provided.
Step 2. You will need to price up the cost it will take to build your zoo and buy the animals. You must stay within budget.
Step 3. You will then work out how much it cost to run your zoo per week. You will need to look at staffing costs, feeding the animals and running costs.
Step 4. You will need to price your entrance tickets. Be careful, high pricing will deter customers but low prices will not earn you any money!
Step 5. Does your zoo create a profit or loss each week? Calculate if your zoo generates a profit, to do this you will need to subtract the running costs from the money you will receive from guests, the café and gift shop.
Step 6. Design your zoo logo.
