This is the 11th lesson in the AS course devised by myself. The lesson powerpoint will show students how to write a quadratic expression in the completed square form, although this terminology will not be used as it is not used in examinations. Students will apply this knowledge in the next lesson. A 5 minute starter on recent material students should know is included and there is a generic plenary on the last slide. The resource that accompanies the lesson will allow students to practise the lesson's objective, with the questions matching those explained by you in your exposition. There are 3 levels of differentiation on the resource and this will help your planning of directed differentiation. Resources can be printed so that students can have their own files of notes and examples. This can also be used with KS4 students.
