Australia to Z by Armin Greder is a provocative look at what it means to be Australian in the form of a picture book for older readers. Alongside stereotypes and clichés of Australian identity there are also more challenging and disturbing portrayals of Australian culture. This resource helps students understand and analyse Greder’s portrayal of the nation and is perfect for English, History or Civics and Citizenship classes.

The resource contains three pages of worksheets. The first two focus on understanding the text and analysing some of the strategies and techniques used by Greder to explore his ideas. The third page encourages students to shape their own Australia to Z, with an encouragement to likewise go beyond stereotypes and dig deeper into Australian identity and all its complexities.

The resource is included in both Word and pdf formats to allow for compatibility and editing.
