Subject: Personal, social and health education
Age range: 11-14
Resource type: Game/puzzle/quiz
This resource has been designed as a fun, ice-breaker activity for pupils. The activity is based on two questions - ‘Which would you choose?’ and ‘Would you rather?
Pupils are asked to make choices between two options. The resource contains five task sheets and an accompanying PowerPoint. The PowerPoint can be used to introduce the task and activities and to bring pupils together for discussion at the end of the activity.
Using these resources pupils get to find out more about themselves and each other. Each option gets pupils thinking about their preferences, thoughts and feelings on a wide variety of things. Some will be relatively quick and easy to answer. Others will require more thought. Some are designed to promote discussion. Several are to encourage reflection on values and attitudes towards what is important in life.
Suggestions for Use
Put the pupils in pairs or a small group and ask them to discuss each choice and to justify their choices (say why).
At the end of the activity bring the group together to discuss what options pupils have chosen. Ask pupils to explain their reasons for some of their choices. You could also analyse the number of pupils who chose each option.
