A ready-to-go lesson which introduces the work of a South African artist. It encourages students to analyse visual language and consider approaches to making art before they plan something creative themselves!
Easy-to-follow tasks guide students through their initial reactions to the artwork, before looking at the work more closely. They will practice ‘reading’ for meaning, making inferences through formal and contextual analysis. They will also discover the artist’s intentions to help them understand further hidden meanings, and appreciate the cultural and historical importance of their work.
