A hands on activity to help students consolidate their knowledge on the structure and function of polysaccharides.

To be used as part of my 2.0 Carbohydrates SOW / Lessons or as a stand a lone activity.

Includes:

  • Activity instructions and resources for students
  • Marking grid for teachers to use for quick and efficient marking of the projects.

Students follow the instructions to create and build two different polysaccharides. They will need A3 paper to create their carbohydrates. Once built, students should label and annotate with as many key words as possible (eg: glycosidic bond, glucose, hydrolysis).

Optional: Students can answer questions (no mark scheme for this)
