Pupils read the model non-chronological report about barn spiders, and then examine its features; label the layout features of a non-chronological report; sort the sentences about pigs into sections; and plan and write their own non-chronological report using the templates. Pupils can create the information text about one of the animals from the book, such as a spider, pig, goose or sheep. These activities can be carried out over several lessons.
