This is a Smart notebook file which I know isn’t compatible for everyone - sorry! It’s 19 lessons’ worth of reading lessons based on Clockwork. It works as follows:
- a recap quiz based on the previous 3 lessons and then vocab work (pre-teaching vocab that will appear in the next 3 lessons)
- 3 lessons including reading 5-8 pages per lesson and a comprehension activity
- a recap quiz/vocab pre-teaching work
- 3 lessons… etc. Some of the comprehension activities are based on ideas from Emma Stanley’s (@MissStanleyYr6) reading strategies document.
Obviously it’s up to you, but I use three strategies to read: echo reading, popcorn reading (the adult reads aloud and picks children to read various sentences every so often) and partner reading (these are what the symbols are for next to the pages that should be read).
