I think I originally saw this idea on the TES website, but I can't remember where! Pupils investigate what amounts of money can be made with one of each coin up to a 50p piece. They can then investigate what extra coins they would need to make all the amounts up to 99p. There is also an extra extension where they can try to find a more effective coinage system for this!
