Designed for my BTEC level 2 Applied Science students for Unit 19 (NQF).
The worksheet has video links, a couple of questions and activities for students around the methodology and reasoning behind column chromatography. The particular focus is on separating chlorophyll in plants.
I made this mainly because it is so hard to actually do as a class practical and it just made it easy to understand for my students and a simple write-up supports their assignment work for methods of chromatography.
Enjoy :)
NB the last question should show some indication of a row of test tubes with extracted samples in the order that they exited the column. This is obviously different to the paper and TLC where they have the colours separated up the paper or membrane.
