Combining Like Terms Create and Color

In this activity, students will combine like terms of algebraic expressions as they tap into their creative side! Students will simplify algebraic expressions by combining like terms. Then, they will find their answer in a box on the next page and then decorate that box according to the directions for that exercise. The students will create their own colorful masterpieces as they reinforce their algebra skills, and you will be able to quickly check for understanding as the students assemble their artwork. This flexible activity allows students to stretch their imagination while reinforcing important algebra concepts. This activity is great for sub work, enrichment/reinforcement of skills, extra credit, or just plain fun! As an added bonus, the completed work doubles as excellent classroom decor and allows your students to show off not only their math, but also their artistic, skills!
