Lesson Plan below:

Pupils are introduced to the theme of the albatross as a good omen by writing a list of their own good luck charms.
As a class, pupils read a passage of the poem from part I, focusing on keywords such as: hailed, helmsman, vespers and fiends.
Introduction to the learning and challenge objectives with a focus on the keywords of the lesson: comparative and superlative.
Pupils establish an understanding of this new terminology through paired discussion of examples.
Pupils apply their knowledge of the keywords by completing a list of examples which allow them to practice turning adjectives into comparatives and superlatives.
