An array of resources that can be used and reused with new classes. Included are a variety of resources that are appropriate for a range of age groups. The aim being to get pupils communicating and building their confidence. The resources also enable the teacher to establish the learning climate and expectations for the year ahead.
- A treasure hunt of basic introductory vocabulary for pupils to circulate and recall vocab, the alternative if you prefer your students to sit down is a word search. There is a summary vocabulary on the excel worksheet - the pupils then use the vocabulary to produce their own luggage label in their books introducing themselves
- Also attached is an introductory PowerPoint setting out the course content for the year (edit to suit your scheme of work) and classroom expectations
- Within the PowerPoint "connaitre mieux ma classe" there is an amazing selection of icebreaker activities:
--- an outline of a person where the pupils fill in key information (what they learnt last year, what they like to do, what they don't like doing, their best friends, what they want to do after school and a memory from childhood
--- 5 generic introductory questions
--- an acrostic using the letters of their first name to describe themselves
--- a survey with 15 questions that they answer themselves and then pose questions to their partner to find out
their answers
--- a template where the pupils provide details of their learning style
--- a slide which prompts them to reflect on their learning thus far and their moving on targets this year
---positive note on leaving "I'm glad I met ______ because" (in French)
--- 3 exercises of the activity "find someone who" (with varying difficulty) - excellent for formulating questions and recalling high frequency vocabulary
--- 2 truth and a lie
--- "my biggest weakness" with 8 examples as a prompt for pupils

Really engaging activities that set your year/course off on a positive note. The resources are easy to edit too
