Consonant Digraphs Worksheets and Reading Comprehension

These worksheets relate to mixed consonant digraphs. It also includes reading comprehension and extension work on medial consonant digraphs.

Content:

• Worksheets A to H: 6 simple sentences on each page.
• Reading comprehension and questions with associated activities
• Extra work on digraphs - complete a medial digraph worksheet

Worksheets A to H: Students read the simple sentences and then circle the correct digraph for each sentence and write it in the blank space to complete the word.

Reading comprehension activities: Sections A, B and C
First students should read the text which contains missing digraphs (You will have a Teacher’s Copy). Once they have inserted the missing digraphs, they reread the text and answer 9 questions.

Section C: This is extension work/worksheet for early finishers
The worksheet contains missing medial consonant digraphs with pictures. Students should fill in the missing digraphs.

Optional activity on reading comprehension for differentiation:
In small groups or one-to-one teaching, students could read the text only and fill in the missing digraphs as a group and then discuss the questions.
