Designing a Historical Timeline worksheet

A practical way to teach timelines in the classroom, with students creating one on paper. Useful for cover/relief lessons, as the teaching is primarily explaining how to proceed and then assisting where needed.

I would recommend drawing a rough example on the board to explain each step, especially for lower years.

This exercise is designed to run over one or two lessons, depending on the class level. You will need to give students an A4 or A3 blank piece of paper to work on or they can create the time within their exercise books.
