Die Farben - Painting by numbers

This activity uses the well known poem ‘Lieber Weisser Bruder’ and ‘Malen nach Zahlen’ (painting by numbers activity) to practice the colours in German.

Stick up the ‘Malen nach Zahlen’ chart in the corridor. In pairs, students choose one person to be the ‘runner’, who goes up to the chart and reads which number is equivalent to which colour. They return to their partner, who has the blank copy of the poem, and helps them to decipher the missing colours in the poem.
