A lesson designed for the Safer Internet Day but it can be used for PSHE to tackle disinformation and encourage fact-checking through education.
It includes:

  • Basic online practices that spread disinformation to raise awareness and discuss where they have seen these techniques used in the internet.
  • Two videos for students to learn about fake news and their fast spread.
  • Activity for students to search for examples of the studied terms and discuss their consequences with a handout to fill in.
  • Slides to share with students tools that can help them to spot disinformation
