The aim of this game is to get the pupils actively thinking how to determine correct (accusative/ dative) case when using dual prepositions. This exercise tends to work in groups of 4.
Before the game starts, I review the grammar rules with the class ( see slide 1 )
During the game, students place the sentences in the correct row. Groups call out connect 4 when they think they have correct answers. I walk over to group and cross check their answers. If all answers match, I tend to give the group a small prize .
PS: Slide 5 contains the answer sheet.
PPS: Another variation to this exercise is to remove the article ( der/des etc...) and get the students to write correct article and place sentences in correct row.
