Designed specifically for the Edexcel A-level chemistry specification (9CH0), covering topic 1: Atomic structure and periodicity.
Many of these will be useful for other exam boards too.

A full set of worksheets for the topic, built from scratch to provide an extra source of practice for students.

Answer sheets included. Full workings given for mathematical questions (in this case, isotopes etc).

Sheets included:
01 - Proton, neutron and electron numbers (including for ions)
02 - Isotope calculations from abundances (simple calculations to find relative atomic mass from given abundances)
03 - More complex isotope calculations (for example, where at least one isotope mass is unknown)
04 - Isotope calculations from mass spectra (using graphical data to find r.a.m.)
05 - Mixed isotope calculations (a mixture of all above types, since mixed practice improves learners’ adaptability)
06 - Mass spectra of small molecules (eg. chlorine and bromine and peak heights/ratios, but with more examples for practice)
07 - The mass spectrometer (layout and function)
08 - Electronic structure (electron configurations)
09 - Successive ionisation energies (predicting groups etc)
10 - 1st ionisation energies (across periods but also down groups)
11 - Periodicity (mainly melting points across periods 2 and 3)

About me - I am an experienced teacher of A-level chemistry, having taught AQA for 7 years and Edexcel for 2 years - and have been slightly frustrated at the lack of Edexcel-specific resources in that time. I have a particular interest in helping students develop their mathematical skills, and have gained an understanding of where they typically struggle.
