Empathic Writing - Diary Entries, Informal Letters and Monologues

Teaching empathic writing through the movie ‘Brooklyn’. Teachers will need access to the movie ‘Brooklyn’ in order to teach this unit.

• differentiation tasks for higher and lower ability pupils e.g. challenges related to the starter activities, sentence starters for the writing tasks and content tables for pupils who struggle to identify the important events in the movie.

This unit can easily be edited for pupils studying Second Language IGCSE (Cambridge). Simply change the the monologue tasks to diary entry or letter writing.
