The reading activities contain stretch and challenge, and also aim to present high-level language to French learners in a manner which allows them to manipulate the language for their own purposes.

- a matching activity linking the first part of a sentence on countries in French with an appropriate ending based on geographical, cultural and historical clues;
- a series of opinions on accommodation which must be classified as positive, negative or positive and negative;
- a cloze exercise based on a higher-level paragraph on a recent holiday;
- a narrow reading exercise on a recent holiday;
- a reading comprehension with questions in English.
