This lesson demonstrates how students can analyse existing products using ACCESS FM technique to write what could have been the design specification for it. Along with the teacher’s powerpoint, the lesson includes a task worksheet (word document) that focuses on the common desk stapler. This can be easily adapted for other existing products. This exercise can also prepare students for writing their own design brief and criteria for their own mini-projects and the final NEA coursework.
