This was a very low tech escape room activity.
I printed off slides 1 (key words), slides 4-7 for students (2 slides per page!).

The locations are on the final slide. I hid the first code cracker under a beret on an unused desk, the next clue under a guillotine by our fire exit and the third (pair of codes) under a toy crown on my classroom shelves.

As I didn’t have a suitable box I could padlock, I used a cardboard wallet, holepunched it and put the padlocks through the holes on there. I used one padlock with a 3 digit code (187 - slide 8 for the questions) and a key padlock. On the wallet, I wrote in French that they had to prove to me they had complete all activities. I gave prizes to the students to open the padlock first.

I did this with an able Y10 group (small class) and it took virtually a double lesson (100 minutes).

Please message me if you have any questions.

You are a genius. This is brilliant. On slide 8 should it say combien de lettres rather than combien de mots?
