This is an ESL English lesson, tailored to the new Pearson Edexcel (2023) ESL GCSE examination series. The lesson focuses on the second unit: Education.
It is an introductory lesson to the topic and covers vocabulary to describe different areas of schools. Students have the chance to partake in a ‘hunt’ around their school and complete a table using words to describe specific areas. They can then present these back next lesson through a virtual tour of the school. Most tasks are differentiated to accommodate those with a basic level of English, to the more proficient speakers.
Students get the chance to practice writing and speaking skills in this lesson.
