Essen und Einkaufen - food and drink, and at the market

This resource bundle includes two full lessons, one on food and drink, and another on shopping in a market. These resources were originally designed for a mid-to-lower ability group but can be easily adapted.

1. 'Ich esse gern' = this lesson starts with an introduction to German food specialities (worksheet included), followed by an introduction to vocabulary for food and expressing likes and dislikes using match ups and dictionaries (also included as a separate worksheet if useful). The lesson concludes with a game of battleships (worksheet and instructions included).

2. 'Auf dem Markt' = The lesson begins with an introduction to vocabulary for fruit and veg in German. There is also a cut and stick activity giving both singular and plural forms (worksheet included). There is a memory game (and additional word search) included to practise this vocabulary. Next, German words for different weights are introduced through a gap fill activity and translation activity. The lesson then goes on to a dialogue between a shop keeper and a customer through a spoken dominoes team activity (domino cards and instructions included). There is an additional homework task added at the end.
