The fourth week of a SoW which has students studying short stories and ultimately writing their own. These lessons use Jhumpa Lahiri's 'When Mr. Pirzada Came to Dine' and focus on how a story's context shapes its language, themes and ideas, and then on grammatical aspects, such as sentence structure and punctuation (how the colon and semicolon are used in particular). Students continue to have an opportunity to write creatively using the writing skills and knowledge of short stories gained during this unit so far. Used with Year 9. *See 'Week 3' for text used*
