This lesson is aimed at getting pupils to identify extremist behavior and discuss the difference between extremism and terrorism.
Since we have focused heavily on how Islam has been affected by terrorism and the media in previous topics, I have not included any specific information on IS in this lesson.
This is aimed at a top set year 9 class but can be easily adapted through differentiated questioning.
Learning objectives:
To understand what is meant by the term extremism and how it differs from terrorism.
To explain some of the reasons somebody might hold extremist views.
To discuss case studies of extremism.

Hi Paige, <br />

Thanks for this resource. In the powerpoint you ask the children to order some images based on how extreme they are. Do you happen to have this resource as well? Or examples of what sort of things were included? Thanks!
