The challenge cards display a number of activities that get children to manipulate the practical fraction resources you have. They will need to demonstrate their understanding by showing equivalents, fractions of amounts, practical reasoning based questions and need to think about ascending ordering too. The children cut the cards out and can choose to complete them in any order.
You will need to use practical equipment for the children to manipulate equipment in order to compare fractions.
This is a useful lesson as either an exploration into fractions or as a recap session. It has been designed for children in Years 4 or 5.
