This is 5 day unit of work for teaching fractions of numbers objectives in year 4 + a mini-assessment for the end of the unit

Day 1 is all about conceptual understanding. Can you solve the problems that are represented by the bars? Solve the problems and crack the code. Day 4 is all about consolidation before moving on to more complex problem solving and application of skills. Lots of fun to be had playing the range of games and puzzles, from bingo to alien invasions!
Day 5 is all about the application of skills and problem solving. Children select from a range of problem solving cards (60+ problems). stick into books and solve!
