This could be an ideal starter, plenary or revision activity on the Healthy Lifestyle topic for GCSE. I would recommend printing it off in A3 size, and then giving out one copy to each pair of students so they can write directly on the sheet.
The activity has elements of Blooms Taxonomy in it, working on the premise that the students develop more in-depth skills with the language as they become more confident with it.
The idea of ‘count to 10’ is that the students decide which activities they want to do, all related to the first activity (worth 3 points) which is a gapfill. Once they have done the gapfill and earned themselves 3 points (which they write in the empty arrow), then they can choose any of the other activities they want to do. The less challenging activities are worth fewer points than the more challenging ones. The aim is for the pairs of students to try to accrue 10 points in the time you have set them.
