Your students will each create a family album. There are singular and plural options for different family members, so students can choose to include an individual photo on each page (2 sisters, print a sister page for each) or print one plural page and attach a group photo. The first page is a cover, which can be folded in half to encompass the other pages. The individual pages should be cut in half and inserted between the cover before stapling along the folded edge.

For this lesson, I work in small groups and break it up across 2 lessons (lessons are 15-20 minutes and my students are 4 and 5 year olds). I name the family member in French, “ton oncle,” and ask one child to tell me who that would be in English. Then, the children find their uncle(s) if they have any. I then name a color in French for them to color in the word “oncle.” Finally, to practice writing there is a line for them to write the relative’s name (or for parents to fill it in later for younger students), and a box to paste in a photo or draw a picture.
