Who joined in with more than single words in the song?
Who decoded most new words?
Who was good at using new French words to make sentences?
Who was best at explaining the Saint Nicolas tradition?
Who found the most French phonic patterns?
Who gave their opinion in French?
Which team worked best together to complete the tasks?

Appreciation of song, story and rhyme
Listening for key words and ideas
Reading skills: using clues such as cognates, context, sentence structure and word order, pictures and images to assist decoding of new French words.
Using a dictionary or word bank resource to find meanings of words.
Memorising words and phrases.
Expressing opinions.
Using familiar language to create independent sentences or phrases to explain and describe.
Accurate pronunciation.
Phonic patterns and how sound links to written form.
Knowing about a tradition in another country and appreciating similarities and differences among people from other places.
