Functional Skills Maths - Entry Level 2 - Time

These resources have been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds and Open Awards). It contains an age-appropriate 150-slide Powerpoint lesson and a 70-page on time - Outcomes 7 and 13.

These resources will help students achieve the following learning outcomes:

know the number of hours in a day and weeks in a year
name and sequence hours and days
read and record time in common date formats
read time on analogue clocks in hours, half hours and quarter hours
understand hours on a 24-hour digital clock

Workbook

The 70-page workbook includes 18 information/explanation sheets, 47 worksheets, two progress checks and a certificate of achievement on time. It is available in PDF and an editable Powerpoint version. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

Many opportunities are provided in the PowerPoint for pupils to practise reading the time using both analogue and digital clocks and for pupils to use these skills to solve real-life time problems. The PowerPoint contains links to videos on date formats, telling the time on an analogue clock and 24-hour digital clock and example time exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the time component of the specification and for revision purposes.
