GCSE Biological Drawing Skill Resource Pack

The biological drawing skill is an important one to develop in students and is assessed by a number of exam boards at GCSE, including CIE.

The biological drawing question is 10% of the practical/alternative to practical paper and a skill that can be easily mastered with focused practice using this resource package.

This package includes:

• An ‘exemplar for improvement’, for students to review and evaluate weaknesses and strengths of the drawing
• A mark scheme with the key issues with the ‘exemplar for improvement’ drawing listed to develop students understanding of the key criteria required when producing a biological drawing
• A model exemplar to show students the drawing with all ammendments made
• 5 practice biological drawing exam questions with the addition of a marking criteria rubric to guide students with the key elements needed to achieve a biological drawing of a high standard (each question has a exam board mark scheme provided for the teacher)
