Vector in the film Despicable Me correctly claims he has magnitude and direction. See how I use this and the Hunger Games bowstring in the GCSE Maths – Trigonometry zip file - see video. It contains 6 animated slide packs covering every GCSE Maths – Trigonometry topic for instance from SOHCAHTOA, to advanced sin and cosine rule, to vectors. Each pack has the same 6 slide layout, namely Context and Summary including on-line quiz link; then Detailed methods like how to choose Pythagoras or Trigonometry and if the latter which of the three formula triangles; and in vectors simple columnar to complex “scalar k” questions; then around 10 worked solutions per pack (60 in the whole file) for both simple and “wordy” questions, followed by seven quick closing questions. With the animations I’ve set, you can control the speed at which you reveal for example the next working steps and final answer to a problem.
This file can be used by students, teachers, or tutors for lesson plan slideshows or as material for revision cards and is part of a set of eight common-format files covering all the GCSE Maths topics. The whole set has around 70 slide packs. There are also two Excel interactive multichoice quiz files with 1000 Maths questions and 400 Maths for Science questions.
My approach after 100’s of hours of using and fine tuning these materials with pupils is to ensure professionalism and 100% syllabus compatibility yet build into the Maths some unusual material such as sport, pop music and popular films
