These German Numbers 0-101 task cards really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of German numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They are also ideal for developing German language skills in general, providing students with opportunity to engage with reading, writing and spelling in German.
The activity is versatile, and useful in a range of learning contexts - great for starters, finishers, refreshers, revision activities and sub / cover lessons. The questions are all in German for maximum language engagement. They range in complexity and challenge, both in terms of number and language. The questions also give students the chance to work with German mathematical language.
The set comprises the following non-editable files:
= 48 differentiated question cards, 8 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. I always laminate my language learning cards, as they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years, so it’s worth the extra prep time and expense. I often simply distribute the pages of question cards, rather than cutting out the individual cards, which is great for pair and small-group work in class time.
= answer recording sheet - my students generally use their class workbooks for working out and noting down their responses, though the sheets are definitely useful for more formal assessment purposes.
= answer key - I sometimes laminate these for classwork - one per each group is sufficient
= German numbers 0-101 list
I don’t let students use calculators with the activity - this definitely makes them concentrate more.
