A Design Technology unit of work, including slides and worksheets, based around creating a Greek salad. This links well with any Greece topic.
Students will begin by developing an understanding of the components of a traditional Greek salad, exploring the cultural significance of this dish within Greece. They will learn about the key ingredients, such as feta cheese, olives, cucumber, tomatoes, and olive oil, and investigate their nutritional value. Students will also have the opportunity to experiment with alternative ingredients, dressings, and presentation techniques to create their own variations of the salad. Throughout the unit, students will be encouraged to evaluate their own work and the work of their peers, considering taste, presentation, and nutritional value.
