Before reading the novel Hatchet, this activity will get students thinking about and discussing (and maybe even engaging in some friendly arguing!). Then after the novel is done, students will revisit these questions to consider how their minds have stayed the same or changed based on the events, characters, and themes they've just read about and felt.
