Can be used on its own or as part of the lap counter project bundle.
I use this project for year 9 students, but would be suitable for year 9 or 10, maybe even as GCSE project. Can be used for Electronics clubs etc.

Lap Counter Project 555 Monostable 4026 counter 7 segment display
This bundle includes how to guides for the development of a lap counter circuit diagram and PCB. Also includes a Portfolio to be used as a teaching aid that teaches about switch bounce, 555 monostable circuits and the 7 segment display. The portfolio also covers task analysis and evaluations using ACCESSFM as a framework. Hi<br /> I have a question about the lap counter. Does the 7 seg display need the resistors between the chip & the display? ? In the circuit diagram they are between the chip and the display, on the PCB there is no space for them. Hope you can answer?
