Hybrid And Electric Vehicles EV Awareness

This PowerPoint covers Hybrid and electric vehicle awareness and was made for the the later lessons of the Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course I teach. There are 41 slides in total and makes use of the animations the PowerPoint offers - Be sure to use the slideshow feature or you’ll have a lot of overlapping images and things not making sense. There are some slides that require answers to be revealed by clicking on the pictures or text - I have pointed these out in the slide comments.

This lesson covers awareness of hybrid vehicles, EV’s and briefly touches on fuel cell vehicles. I have added a word doc worksheet to go along with this PowerPoint for assessment purposes (and answer doc too) but essentially covers Hybrid/EV awareness, what makes them different and the dangers involved. Slide 18-21 is a little complicated for level 1, but a nice stretch challenge for brighter learners.

I teach levels 1 up to 3 of Vehicle Maintenance & Repair at a further education college in the UK delivering the IMI vehicle qualifications.

I found the resources available to me when I started pretty poor and didn’t engage the students particularly well, so I made my own set of PowerPoints that cover pretty much all of it so far, so thought i’d share some of them up here and see if there’s any takers. If there is, i’ll put them all up and hopefully they’ll come in useful.

I don’t want to charge a ton for these, but a good few hours go into making these PowerPoints so i’m just getting a little back for my time and hopefully they come in useful for others.
