This set of 6, A4 sized, animal themed worksheets are designed to help Upper KS1, KS2 and Lower KS3 students to practise descriptive writing skills, with a focus on adjectives, verbs and emotions.

The worksheets feature a tiger, a dolphin, a parrot, a crocodile, a fox and a dinosaur so students have a choice of topic.

Younger (and/or low ability students) can use them to help practise how to plan their writing by jotting down a few keywords about the animal’s appearance, personality and movement. They could also think about how they would feel if they met the animal before using their notes to help them to write a couple of sentences.
Older (and/or more able) students could write a paragraph about the animal and, as an extension, could be encouraged to use more complex or emotive vocabulary.

If you like these worksheets and have found them useful, please leave me a review and, for more advice and resources, you might like to visit the “English Home Studies” Facebook page.

Many thanks.
