In this unit students will investigate the large-scale use of data by commercial organisations. The use of ICT in the retail industry and how this data can be used.
Students will investigate the use of bar codes and loyalty cards and there affect on today’s society. The social implications of Digital Rights Management on films and music businesses and how this affects the end user.
Also in this unit students will investigate the ways in which other organisations collect data, the Data Protection Act and other acts that affect us and the different ways data can be protected from misuse or damage.
