A short powerpoint (approx 3/4 lessons) looking at imagery techniques within poetry. Key concepts such as connotations, inference, similes, metaphors, personification and other key terms are defined/explored. Makes reference to multiple songs/lyrics as examples as well as ‘The Boxer’ poem. I used this as an introduction to poetry for my s1 (year 7) class before moving on to our class study of a poem.
