Gene technologies complete unit AQA A level Biology

Full lessons that teach all the content from AQA specification 3.8.4.1 Recombinant DNA technology & 3.8.4.2 Differences in DNA between individuals of the same species can be exploited for identification of heritable conditions (A-level only) & 3.8.4.3 Genetic fingerprinting (A-level only). Each lesson should take about 1hour to teach, but you can easily adapt them to your own lesson timings. 1. Making DNA fragments 2. In vivo gene 3. Genetic fingerprinting Using a detailed and engaging PowerPoint the students work their way through the content with a range of whole class quizzes, paired and individual activities. The lessons are well structured and uses real life examples of genetic diseases to enhance the learning of the students. Worksheets are included as PDFs for students to complete (all answers are present on the PowerPoint) with a variety of activities such as labelling diagrams and answering exam style questions.
