This resource is a basic introduction to binary which explains how Base 2 can represent decimal numbers. The resource goes through how much each bit is worth in decimal and how to convert very easily from binary into decimal. This is suitable for KS3 or KS4 students with no prior exposure to Binary or as a reminder.

The differentiated task sheets are to be printed off for the students to fill in.

The binary piano is a very good hands on tool that the students can use to convert from Binary to Denary. This resource is included and needs printing and cutting out. The beauty of this is that students can stick it into the front of their book and use it throughout their course, or be used as a wall display resource if it is printed very large onto card and laminated.
