This 6/7 week scheme of work will is suitable for Year 8 or Year 9 students. It will enable them to study language through literature based on a storyline that is relatable to teens and young people.
Overview
• This unit will provide students with an opportunity to develop their English Language skills through the study of Literature whilst also engaging in discussions on a range of relevant issues that affect young children growing up.
• To explore themes such as: Love; Parental Relationships and Purpose presented through the use of narrative voice, structure and language.
• To create opportunities to write creatively and produce some non-fiction research.
• To write an analytical essay, examining the writer’s use of langauge and/or structure to engage the reader
