This unit of work comprises of a series of whole class reading lessons using DERIC (Decode, Explain, Retrieve, Interpret, Choice). All the questions and activities are based around developing key reading skills and are planned for Year 2 (start of the year) but also suitable for Year 1 and EYFS with a bit of adaptation.
