Here are two sets of word problems for lower and higher ability children using decimal numbers from 1dp upwards. As reasoning is such a skill to master just by taking away the word addition or subtraction means the children really have to focus on what the problems is asking. I spend a lot of time with my children focusing on the language of the questions as well as the operation of solving.
