Step into the NHS for primary schools

Step into the NHS is an exciting KS2 resource and national competition, designed to help raise pupils’ career aspirations, challenge stereotyping and develop awareness of over 350 different NHS careers.

Teacher resources

The KS2 one lesson launch resource allows your pupils to:

  • explore a wide range of careers
  • challenge common myths and misconceptions about NHS careers
  • better understand that all NHS careers are open to them, whatever their gender or background.

The one lesson launch is a ready-made lesson plan, supplemented by optional worksheets, quizzes and videos. You can use it to:

  • deliver the key learning objectives of the competition in one hour
  • help you meet the Department for Education’s careers strategy
  • introduce meaningful career-related learning to your pupils.

Enter the national competition

To enter, pupils need to create a piece of artwork or writing that showcases the diversity of roles in the NHS. There are some fantastic prizes on offer, including the national winer seeing their entry displayed in public!

Why not discover how you can inspire your pupils with Step into the NHS? Send us your pupils’ entries by 30 April 2024!

Visit the Step into the NHS website now to download the free one lesson launch and get started!
